Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 5:46PM
Good Technology is pleased to announce that as a part of our Q4 release a new version of Good Mobile Control is now available. This server upgrade is required to take advantage of the new features included in the upcoming Good for Enterprise - iOS and Android client releases. This release supports both Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino and only works with the latest Good Mobile Messaging for Exchange and Domino versions.
Key features in this release include:
Good File Repository:
Control whether users can use the unique secure partition and file system to store and manage email attachments and other files. Once enabled by IT, Good File Repository gives users the ability to attach multiple files when replying or composing a new email, similar to their experience on their desktop. Only possible with Good for Enterprise.
Wide Support for New iOS 5 MDM Capabilities:
Including support for Managed Apps, Access Rights, disabling iCloud backup and data roaming along with several other new capabilities enabling IT to easily manage and support the latest iOS 5 devices.
Compliance Reporting Improvements:
Easily and quickly view which devices are not in compliance and determine which policies are violated. Includes ability to extract reports.
Enterprise Application Distribution Improvements:
Provides improved distribution capabilities for enterprise apps through a custom location (URL) with no app-size limitations. In addition, IT can specify whether the enterprise app is a Managed App and disable syncing to iTunes and iCloud, as well as remove the enterprise app if the user removes their MDM profile.
Enhanced handheld information:
Now enjoy more devices per page with more handheld information including handheld's compliance status, inactivity of devices, data roaming status, device's battery level, and more.

Keeping up with your employees
Throughout 2011 Good has settled into a quarterly update pattern quite well and this update rounds out their 4th major update for the year. With the market continuing to move at a rapid pace it is great to see Good keeping up. As with all Good updates (Major and Minor) all MSC Mobility managed customers running Good will be updated in the coming weeks once we have put this release though our test lab.
