iOS holds 94% of the enterprise market in 4Q 2011. 

Good Technolgies release quarterly smartphone market statistics based on the number of activations they see flowing through their Network Operations Center (NOC).  This data is especially useful for us to be able to gauge the real uptake of smart devices in the enterprise.  Most of the market data that is published includes the rapidly growing consumer market which can sometime skew the results.

Key Points from the report include:

  • iOS tablets represented roughly 94 percent of total activations for Q4 2011
  • The iPhone 4S represented 31 percent of all activations for the quater

Good for Enterprise for Exchange server software service release

Good Technology is committed to delivering a quality product to our valued customers. Service releases, such as this one, are designed to address issues reported by customers. This server update includes customer escalation and maintenance fixes, including an issue with a system resource leakage, caused by high notifications traffic to iOS devices. The problem is limited to Good for Enterprise for Exchange v.6.3.1.23 running on Windows 2008 R2 server environments.

All MSC Mobility managed customers will be upgraded to the the latest Good for Enterprise release in the coming weeks.  As with all new releases first we run it up in our test lab and give it a good workout to ensure we have all the update gotchas ironed out.

Good Technology releases mobile device management capabilities

 

Good Technology is pleased to announce that a new version of Good for Enterprise for Exchange server software is now available. Good Mobile Messaging for Exchange v.6.3.1.23 and Good Mobile Control v.1.3.1.77 are available. These server upgrades are required to take advantage of the new features included in the upcoming Good for Enterprise –iOS and Good for Enterprise –Android client releases.

iOS holds a 70% enterprise market share.

Good Technolgies release quarterly smartphone market statistics based on the number of activations they see flowing through their Network Operations Center (NOC).  This data is especially useful for us to be able to gauge the real updake of smart devices in the enterprise.  Most of the market data that is published includes the rapidly growing consumer market which can sometime skew the results.

Key Points from the report include:

  • iOS devices represented just under 70 percent of net new activations from January 1 through March 31, 2011
  • iOS tablet (iPad + iPad 2) share of overall net activations slipped slightly from 22 percent to 20.4 percent over the quarter
  • Among the top 10 industry verticals, financial services saw the highest level of iPad activation with 43 percent, more than double the amount of activation in any other industry
  • Android devices represented just over 30 percent of all net new activations over the quarter, a downward trend from 35 percent at the end of Q4
  • Android smartphones represented nearly 38 percent of all smartphone (non tablet) activations compared to iPhone’s 62 percent
